Why leave when they can sit on their asses and collect all over again? And this time plan it better so they can go to Vegas or on a cruise?

people say new orleans wants to rebuild--but who there will do it? there are generations who have lived there (and elsewhere) who know nothing but living on govt subsidies. they know nothing about building, let alone rebuilding. all the doers are elsewhere, doing it where they moved to.

What an absurd and wrong generalization. Just which group of people are you referring to when you say, "generations?"

The unemployment rate in greater New Orleans is 4.1%. Of similar size, or even larger size metro areas, the lowest is Oklahoma City at 4.0%.

Yeah, right.

Yeah, right.
I have to say that any official numbers that come out of NO post katrina are very suspect. There are thousands of people living there who are virtually undocumented and any trip to any place of local govt there will show you that no one has any handle on exactly who or what is going on. Which is exactly how they like it.

I would say exactly the opposite. You have to know the Feds have a handlle on what's going on, at least more so than, say, Detroit. Too late to save the drownied masses, but better late than ever.
