![]() You wont, the racing has gone too far downhill to be even remotely arguable.
But it would be nice to have something to do like take a walk on the beach or a short drive to see the San Diego Padres play, as opposed to going to a place like Siros and paying $7 for a can of beer. |

![]() I'm from the left coast and am in agreement. Although, what Joel said about the scenery couldn't be more accurate.

![]() The racing is so much better at Saratoga it is not funny. Saratoga is just much better. Keeneland is the only track even close.
The time you will have in San Diego compared to Saratoga is not even funny. Del Mar blows Saratoga away if you are going for a weeks vacation. If you want just racing go to Saratoga. If you want an entire vacation go to San Diego. Please do not respond unless you have been to both. It is amazing how many people compare the two without even having been to one or the other. The woman at Saratoga are pretty nice. Some nice fillies do a fashion show in the morning some days. However, the woman at Del Mar put the women at Saratoga to shame. |

![]() Been to both. Not to restate the obvious, but Saratoga is for racing and "history", Del Mar is for the various "views", location, and weather. If the focus of this thread is to focus on racing the better comparison is Oak Tree vs Belmont Championship meeting. IMO the Oak Tree meeting has far better racing than Del Mar and the Belmont Championship meeting usually has better racing than even Saratoga.
