This is not the horse that won The Derby or the horse who broke from Barbaro's grave in the 12 hole at GP only to mock the competition as he cruised past all comers in a race that was over after the first half mile.

I would love to be wrong about this one but I would be shocked if he was in California this October.

Travers? retirement?
Im glad everyone here makes the decisions for BB. Did anybody see the post race interview and then see it again another 100 times on sports center??? They said one more race before the BBC and it most likely wouldn't be Travers. Wow.

On ESPN it looked to me like KD was having some trouble getting BB to slow down and stop after the wire. Did anyone else notice this? I wondered if BB just didn't get into the race until late and then wasn't ready for it to be over when it was.

I'm not a particular BB fan (I'd say because of the connections, but as FGFan can testify, I'm a huge fan of Benny the Bull, so consistent I am not. ), but I thought it was a fun race to watch and it was neat to see BB show a little bit of grit, since we haven't seen that from him before.

Think I saw a 106 Beyer for Big Brown for the Haskell, for what it is worth.

Dutrow on BB vs. Curlin - has the guantlet been thrown down?

"Curlin couldn't win the Derby, we could," Dutrow said. "Curlin couldn't win this race, we could. Curlin got beat [by] a filly. We haven't. Our horse is undefeated on the grass. Curlin isn't. I don't know why people think Curlin is such a good horse. We're way better than Curlin."

No way did he spew that nonsense. No way. This takes the cake for ridiculous Dutrow comments. What a toolbox.

omg, you gotta be kidding me. big brown was all out to beat a horse who couldn't even win an opt claimer last time out...the whole field he beat had two, TWO graded wins between the lot of them. undefeated on grass?! lol big freaking deal, judging by the grass win he got. you can't judge his grass win vs curlins second.
this guy is delirious. or burnt. maybe both.

we're way better than curlin?? someone get this guy some help.

This kind of stuff is much easier to say when your horse will never face Curlin. I'd be shocked if they ever line up in the same starting gate.

perhaps he'll run in the super derby next, since it seems the penna derby has already also been taken off the schedule. i don't see him taking on older, altho it would crack me up if he were to attempt maybe the JCGC, and have one of the older horses curlin has been beating up on dust his ass.
since curlin looks a no go for the classic, i'd say that the chances of the two meeting is nil.

oh, and for those who missed it, the arc is a definite NO for curlin-but i'm sure everyone already figured that.

How many former BC Turf winners competed against Big Brown in that MSW he won on the turf?
