![]() I'm kidding Kev. And we arent going down with any ship. Yankees will never win a world series with a guy like Giambi on their team. Bad karma is a bitch.
Hoping the Sox can close the gap to 2 games by Friday. |

![]() To two? How exactly is that gonna happen? Yanks have two more against Baltimore that they should win, and Bost has two against the Tigers which I expect a split on. That would be 4. Boston beating the Yanks in both games of the doubleheader on Friday? I just can't see it. I see them going 3-2(either team) in the 5 game series like they always do. I see Yanks by3 or 4 after the weekend. Then the Sox go to LA and the yanks hit Seattle. And then they switch with the Yanks going to LA and Sox going to Seattle. Can't see much movement between them there either. Sox have seen their last days this year in first place. Its the wildcard for them or nothing. Cano was awesome again last night. He was the guy they needed back more than anyone and man is he doing it at the plate and in the field.

![]() I think its going to be real tough for the Red Sox to win the wildcard Mike. Its the division or its tee times at the Cape. They now have to get by the Twins and the White Sox (or the Tigers), thats 2 teams that are in the same division that will play each other head to head, meaning very little change in their wildcard positions.
As far as the division goes, at least they have 9 chances head to head to best the team they need to catch. And its only 1 team, not 2. If they cant beat the Yankees in at least 3 of 5 games this weekend its goodbye wildcard. Then their only hope would be a Yankee collapse which doesnt look all that realistic given the way they have been playing. |

CF Damon 2B Jeter RF Abreu 3B Arod 1B Giambi DH Sheffield or Matsui C Posada 2B Cano LF Cabrera Lots of luck beating that lineup. Thats a pitcher's worst nightmare, no matter how good they pitch. Can you imagine having to face Posada, Cano and Cabrera at the BOTTOM of the order? Man, thats just crazy. It still leaves Bernie Williams, and Craig Wilson to fill in or pinch hit and take the field if needed. I see no way how the Red Sox are gonna run them down, it would take a real collapse by the Yanks and I just can't see it with that much talent. |
