Have to say... Having Curlin to watch is a treat.

So what's the deal with his situation in NY? Can he not run in the Whitney or Woodward?

Right. Getting to watch a previous year's 3-yr-old standout is an all-too-rare treat.

The Foster was posted on YouTube by 4 different people. Here's one:

I really don't care. What do you want me to say? Is the brinks truck on the way to your house right now because of this race?

You made a huge deal about how moronic it was to run the horse, then after he runs second, you say you really don't care. You weren't the only one, but I'm pretty sure had he run like ****, you'd be beating your chest.

I thought the whole purpose of any competitive sport was to actually win...I guess I was wrong. Yay. He picked up a check.

OK. So by that mindset, no one should've entered except Curlin.

Yes and by that mindset lets completely forget that this is one of the top turf horses in the country and there are much better opportunities for him on grass with a much better payday then what he recieved today.

I just don't see how running for second does anything to improve his chances this fall.

I actually like Einstein's connections running him today...get's a 200 grand paycheck in a still early season plus he gets more black type grade 1 dirt for future breeding. Can't hurt.

Pants,

I think you're off base on this. This enhances Einstein reputation, as Ron said above, in the breeding shed. A prestigous Gr. I placement versus the reigning Horse of the Year. Plus, where exactly is there more money to be made right now in this start that he was ready for? You realize the Manhattan purse was $400,000? So a win there is $240,000 back and the placement here is $200,000. But the Gr. I dirt placement means more than another Gr. I grass win for him.. Plus they saved the ship...

Yeah, he could have run in a 333 K race and picked up the same money for a win

i never have been a big curlin fan... i tryed hard to beat him world cup day... but i am totally sold, and a full campaign this year will put him close to the top of all time greats, because no one over here is beating him... they really should run in the arlington million or the arc, because curlin is a freak, and a huge turf win would only rate him higher all time.... did he even ask him for run today ? i saw maybe one crack of the whip, easy victory... and he can only get stronger off of this

near the top old time? i doubt it.

turf horses run on dirt to try to boost their fee, not the other way 'round.

Has anyone heard anything from the loudmouths over at IEAH? Its pretty obvious who walks softly and carries the big stick. Hopefully Big Brown makes it into a starting gate with Curlin, he may learn something

Asmussen was quoted saying he wants Curlin's next start to be on turf, either The Man O War, Arlington, or Woodbine...essentially to see if the target of the PRIX DE'LARC DE TRIOMPHE is a feasible one.

I just want someone to explain to me from a racing fans perspective how this race can be beneficial to Einstein's racing campaign from this day forward? Will this witch hunt end when he throws in a clunker in the Arlington Million?
