Sounds like her intent was good and just didn't work out. Being out of work for 8 months I know full well the pressures money can place on you and it appears to me that she's trying to do the right thing.

Better than selling the horse off for the meat market.

She wouldn't get 5K at the meat market - and offer that she's already declined...Yet is stiffing her creditors for some trumped up bs story about it "being all for the children".
She either sh!thouse crazy or has allowed greed to cloud her judgement regarding what the horse's potential worth was. I'm leaning strongly towards the latter but either way she has made some distrubung choices all under the guise of some "spiritual awakening" that God was supposed to figure this all out for her and that hasn't exactly worked out- now she's stuck with a lame ex racehorse that can't even be ridden and STILL allows greed to override her decisions by refusing to accept a very generous offer considering what the horse is worth.
If she was even remotely genuious, she have sold the horse, paid her bills and given whatever was left over to this charity - and then donate the 250.00 a month she spent on care of the horse to the same charity each month.
But no, she wants what she put into the horse back, and is holding her creditors hostage until she gets her way, which will be exactly never.

I'm not buying her hardluck story either. My BS Meter is going crazy. Does anyone know what farm/breeder Watchmon came from? Someone needs to rescue him before he ends up on a truck to Mexico. Or worse. Like slowly starving to death somewhere. Where's Pompa? Watchmon won over $300,000 for him. The horse has earned a happy retirement. I'm sick of people throwing spent racehorses away like garbage.

it would be nice if pompa (who i would assume is a bit more flush with cash these days ) would step up and help out one of his former runners.

either way, too bad that someone who wants to do the right thing ends up doing everything but. she needs to do what she can for the horse, and forget about money spent that she most likely will not ever see again. that was HER choice, not watchmons.

I hope you guys arent suggesting that Pompa give this lady any money. She adopted the horse and now realizes that her insane scheme is costing her too much money, but why should Pompa have to bail her out? It would be nice if he could get into a retirement farm where he should have been sent in the first place. Of course he would have to be gelded to go to one of those farms which would have interfered with his 'stallion' plans.

I think Pompa and/or the breeder should give her fair market value for the horse. Which is about...let's see,,,,,gotta grab my calculator,,,broken down ex-racehorse pasture ornament stallion with mediocre bloodlines...oh, I dunno, about zip, nada, ZERO???? I don't know what moron offered her 5,000 for him, but she should have taken it and ran. (for the kids) I do think Pompa should find the horse a decent retirement home, preferably with someone thats not a nut.

i'd hate to see her get more than she should ( and i addressed that in saying she should just understand the money she spent was her idea, and she's most likely out the dough) but i'd hate to see the horse pay for her stupidity/insanity/whatever she's got going on upstairs.
i think the reason people are looking to pompa is that the horse was his, and he's in a position to help out-much like other owners do for former horses, if given a chance.
