Bonds was hitting bombs long before he ever touched a steroid. Plenty of players are still hitting bombs today that were using steroids several years ago. There's a remarkable increase in power in his fifth season after three straight years where he was extremely consistent. Could that have been a breakout year? Sure. Is it a little suspicious that after those consistent years his power numbers exploded at the same time as Barry Bonds, Juan Gonzalez, and Matt Williams did? I think so. Listen, I hope Griffey was clean and he probably was but I think it is ridiculous he is given a free pass when all the warning signs that get everyone else accused are there.

Wasn't the other major warning sign that Sosa, Ivan Rodriguez, McGuire, Clemens etc were also all bulking up and then shrinking? Admittedly I have not spent much time, nor plan to, studying the girth of Griffey's ass, but as a casual observer, it didn't seem like he blew up that much?

He was 185 as a rookie, 205 in 1992, and is 230 now.

You show me one person that kept his weight from the age of 19 to the age of 24, let alone 37 years old

After you show me one person that stays in peak physical condition from 19 to 37 and puts on 50 pounds naturally. I'm willing to buy the jump to 205 as natural, it is that extra 25 pounds of muscle that is a little suspicious. Either way I'm not saying he necessarily did anything. All I'm saying is all the warning signs that get everyone else accused are there and somehow he gets a free pass.

Dude, it is there JOB to be in peak condition, all these guys do is WORK OUT. If my job was to hit a baseball, and nothing else, I would be working out all the time also.

You work out for 18 years, you are giong to add muscle

Also, just a note, isn't like his muscle mass is in his chest area, his muscle additions are within his core, or his legs/abs

You want an example of a kid just growing into his body. Look at Carlos Zambrano. He was a fat kid that threw heat and then got put on a conditioning program and he is a huge now, but with muscle

195 as a rookie

I'd bet Wilt Chamberlain gained 100 pounds between the time he was 18 to when he retired.
