The only reason Jazil will be closer to the pace is because they'll try to slow it on the front end to 50 and change for the half...Jz has no early speed whatsoever.

he may not have any early speed, but you need to watch the wood again,
see the horsie run,
see the horsie run fast at belmont,
see the horsie run fast at belmont and almost catch the winner in the 9th furlong.

The Wood wasn't run at Belmont. It was at Aqueduct.

I know I said he'd be closer because of the pace, but Mcglaughlin is saying they are going to be closer, because they are put him closer. I think that's a mistake to take a horse out of it's game.

Also, just because a horse is a stone closer, doesn't make him more effective at a longer distance, it tends to dull their kick if anything(Sun King has become a better closer at shorter distances as an example). I think we may have seen this comparing the Wood race to the Derby and I think he'll be less effective in the Belmont.

If they're going to try and change his running style, I agree that it doesn't make much sense. I'm not going to play him either way. I made up my mind to stick with Steppenwolfer as I did in the derby.

He wasn't running that fast, the winner came home in a click over 14.

yes, all three wearing white. all three trained by mcglaughlin and pletcher, both former assistants to dwl. lukas always had his horses wear white so he could find them easier on the track. they do the same as tribute to the guy who taught them much of what they know.

so, even with all the records, all the wins and eclipses, lukas' greatest legacy will be those who learned from him.

Yep, I was definetely wrong!

I never said he wasn't a nice horse. Kiaran should thank Oracles favorite little jock Gomez for this one, never would have know they would have gone that fast, but Gomez is a bone head. My buddy liked him, so we used him in the pik 4 and hit it, so I could care less if he won or not. He's a better horse than that hog Giacomo, so good for him, and I don't care that I was wrong...

Can you tell me how this guy Milton is now all of the sudden a good pitcher? I mean if you're a Reds fan.Last year he was more of a Triple A pitcher getting beat up in the majors.

Scuds, not a big baseball fan, I am very fair weather when it comes to the Reds, if they are winning, I'll pay attention, if not, I could care less. As for Milton, he just had knee surgery, maybe that's what's been bothering him. The two best acquisitions the Reds have made are Arroyo and Brandon Phillips, that Phillips kid was on the scrap heap, and now he's playing pretty well. The Reds have new ownership and a new GM, the new owner has made it clear that they will win and he's going to spend to get it done...
