The guy next to me is a compulsive chess player. The other guy is addicted to video games. Most people on chat sites are addicted to them. The brain likes the stimulation. Try going 30 days without posting on a chat site and see what your brain does. People are animals, just like monkeys. Habit controls everything. As William James notes, "We are mere bundles of habit" nothing more. |
