Yes. Zippy was based on a real chimp. There were books and everything. Kids also played outside more so toys weren't so important. Kickball was an everyday event and neighborhood hide and seek at night.

My Zebra was by far my favorite toy.


I still to this day have an exact replica and still will take him to bed when especially frightened.
