I think he just loves to hit. Would never sign with an American League team!! LOL. Best hitting pitcher in the game however and it is nice to actually see a pitcher get pissed when he doesn't contribute something in his at bats.

Very good hitter for a Pitcher. Edges Dontrelle for best hitting SP. Probably not quite as good as Ankiel though he doesn't count anymore.

The worry about Zambrano is that #1. He has logged alot of innings at a young age. #2 He is fat. That usually is a bad combination.

Also troubling is that of his 10 most comparable pitchers in major league history, the top 3 Ramon Martinez, Dave Boswell, and Jim Maloney were all finished before 30. Of the others the only ones that were not are Pedro and Jake Peavy (who is still in mid 20's)

Well, being the cleveland homer that i am I would just argue Sabathia has been pretty durable and he weighs 290...not too sure on that one. I'd say he's a 3 bagger for sure in the weight department and Zambrano is thin compared to him. Although CC is still only 27 and could break down by 30 as well. But I look at other fat starters like Wells, Reuschel, Fernando, had pretty long careers. I am having trouble thinking of other prominent fat starters off the top of my head other than those 4. But Wells and Reuschel went past 40 years old and Sabathia has had 28 starts or more his first 7 years with only very minor injuries through his career.

You could argue Wells didn't log 200 innings til he was 32 however after he became fat and spent his early career as a part time starter and reliever saving his arm. Reuschel started going 200 plus at age 24 however and still lasted.

Rumor is that Zambrano has a tired arm! Not good for the stretch drive

Dodgers rallied in the 9th to take 3 out of 4 from the Cubs. That may not be rare for the cub bullpen, but pulling a game out in the 9th(from behind) is not normal Dodger activity(rare like a quake.) I'd settle for playing all the last 25 (or whatever is left) games against the Cub pitching. For some reason,it's a nice match-up for L.A..... On the other hand,we have no shot taking a meaningful series from the Cards,Padres,Mets etc.
