So, who wins the King George tomorrow then?

Looks lquite difficult to work out. The ground will be crucial for Dylan Thomas and Scorpion. If it's still soft tomorrow, then you would have to prefer Scorpion. Dylan Thomas has disappointed me this season, i was expecting a huge season from him, but he has let the side down a bit. We know he is better on fast/firm ground. Something which is unlikely tomorrow, and for that reason i am going to pass him over. If by some kind of miracle, the going did get quite fast, he maybe difficult to beat, but as it is current soft, i will chuck him. Scorpion seems best on a soft surface, so the complete opposite to Dylan. He has form with Maraahel, and he shouldn't be too far away.

One horse that shouldn't be inconvenienced by the ground whatever it turns out to be is Youmzain but he has to prove himself after some below par performances, and this tactical race might not really suit him either, as he stays very well. Richard Hughes is the man for the job, but he may find himself with too much to do if they carry out the hold up tactics like usual

Sergeant Cecil looks slightly outclassed here, and although i love him to bits he might just be playing for a minor role over a trip that looks short of his best, and the ground could have gone against him. Would love to see him win, but i can't see it happening. His run in the Gold Cup was really bad, and he needs to show that he is over whatever was bothering him that day.

Maraahel is in the form of his life, but it is slightly off putting that he has failed to win a Gr1 in eleven starts now. He may come up short again, on ground that couls still be softer than he likes tomorrow. His style of racing will suit this type of tactical race, but Scorpion has a 5lb weight pull on him now, which should see them finish close together, and Scorpion might just edge him in ground that he likes well. Maraheel should run his game race though and i'm finding it hard to keep him out of the first three.

Laverock ran a great race on his come back this year finishing second to the talented, but frustrating Papal Bull at Newmarket. He will improve on that run and he would have an outside chance, but the stable aren't confident of a big run. This isn't a brilliant race by King George standards, and he has at least shown he is in form with himself. He seems to go on any ground. It wouldn't surprise me to see him run a big race.

Prince Flori, the German raider isn't a horse i know too much about. He finished three lengths behind Mountain High on his last start, so that tells us he has ability. The form of his races in Europe are nothing to shout about though, and he may find one or two just too good for him. I can't completely discount him though, as i just don't know enough about him.

Prediction:
1st. Scorpion
2nd. Maraahel
3rd. Laverock
4th. Dylan Thomas
5th. Youmzain
6th. Prince Flori
7th. Sergeant Cecil

My boy Maraahel!

Maraahel / Dylan / Youmzain (... or Cecil or Scorpion. Oh hell, I don't know... I just want him to get that elusive G1 win).

If Dylan Thomas has ground to his suiting, it will be like flicking a fly away with his tail.

Couldn't put it better myself.

Ground is very important to him.

Ground came right for Dylan, a great effort from him. It wasn't really fast ground but it dried out all day.

Maraahel ran a gallant race in 3rd. I feel sorry for him, as he is always the 'nearly horse' at Gr1 level. I'm sure he can find a Gr1 before he retires.

My prediction well out.

Do you just want them to finish in a line across the track, mmsc

I think he has a great chance of winning, he might be on a loser to nothing though, because if the ground turns fast (which he likes), Dylan should win, and if it remains soft, Scorpion has the weight reversal.

I'm pretty sure your boy will finish in the first three
