haha, no one need worry about getting mugged or shanked in Arlington Heights.
Near the intersection of Algonquin road and Arlington Heights road in arlington Heights there are numerous hotel choices. this is where I would stay because its close to the track and right off of I90, convenient from the airport. mapquest it you will find Wingate, Sheraton, Motel 6 Red Roof and many others. go north on Arlington heights road two miles and you hit the downtown area where you will find some restauarants/bars. think I'll take off that afternoon and head over to the track to see the queen and her entourage.
