It's far. Believe me. I reserved a room there once for later in the season, but once I realized I'd passed it as I almost reached Scotia, I knew it was just too far. And as for a sign of prosperity(or lack thereof) they always seemed to have rooms available. I've stayed in Scotia- It's a tough drive IMO after a night in town, takes quite a bit of the fun out of the Saratoga experience.

I would think it is not feasable to operate as a Motel for exactly the reasons you noted.

On the other hand, I have looked at cottages near Ballston Lake for $200K+. Question is how low will they go.... Probably find out over the winter.

Believe me, I would consider this an extreme longshot at best. However for $200K, depending on taxes and condition. I would consider doing it with a few partners. Mainly for personal use.

Mostly just looking forward to opening Day at Saratoga!
