They should aim him for the Kings Bishop, maybe he can take down a Grade 1 before he enters his well deserved retirement at the end of the year.

they are aiming to Darley Jonabell.....I'd be surprised if he ever runs again....

Oh and Jones is being very critical of the ride Gomez gave him...said the instructions were clear and Hard Spun was to be on the lead and try to steal it off at the quarter pole because they knew the fractions were going to be slow....not 3 back eyeball to eyeball with Curlin in a stranglehold....not sure how much credit that derserves...but that camp everyone included got exactly what they deserve...but unfortunately HS is the one who suffers...

I think he'd be hard to beat in the BC Dirt Mile.

I see him falling off the map like so many of the good 3 year olds from last year. The triple crown just takes a toll on them.

I said it before, you take him back to a mile, and every horse that races him will know what his farts smell like...That is, until he starts to draw away...

The horse is only a G2 winner on polytrack and a G3 winner on dirt. Do people really think they'd rush him off to the breeding shed with that resume when he's a horse that would have a great shot at HOY next year if he returned?

yes

darley intends to ship him to australia, as a son of danzig, he'll be very popular down there (as well as here) as a replacement for danehill.

And he is tons better a horse than those slow G1 winners Scat Daddy and Nobiz Like Shobiz and Dominican. The horses make the class of the race, not vice versa.

Hard Spun's dam was a SW on the turf (at 12f) so I expect that he will be given his chance to demonstrate his versatility. I imagine the BC Mile might be on his horizon. A win there would make him more attractive to Euro and Aussie breeders.

I think there's definately some merit to this statement, but none of you guys think he'd be pointed towards Turf? Considering who his sire is, and the fact that it will only help HS' stud value, I think he could be a a really good turfer anywhere from a mile to a mile and a quarter.
