![]() Yeah, as far as i'm aware he has been over here a while. This news has surprised me at bit as it seems like (from the way the article has been written) he has been pointed towards the Sussex for a while, but this is news to me........ i thought it was the Queen Anne all the way for starters and then maybe the Sussex?

![]() Excerpt, Racing post.....
Asiatic Boy, who has not been seen in public since beating Jack Junior by nine and a half lengths in the UAE Derby in March, is being aimed at the Cantor Spreadfair Sussex Stakes at Goodwood on August 1. Brown added: "As for Asiatic Boy, we wanted to put him on the course to bring him on a little bit. "He's a month behind the filly and doesn't run for four weeks. We weren't too worried about what performance he put up this morning. We just wanted to show him the course and we are very happy." Asiatic Boy's name figures among 52 entries published on Wednesday for York's Juddmonte International next month. Last year's winner Notnowcato also holds an entry in the 1m2f contest, while another winner from last year's meeting, Alexandrova, is among the 31 entries for the Darley Yorkshire Oaks. |

![]() Soft ground will be a concern for him. Deep down i bet they are regretting not running him at Royal Ascot, and not taking him to America instead.

![]() UAE press release, no author listed..... Asiatic Boy on course for Goodwood The preparation of star three-year-old Asiatic Boy is progressing perfectly with the colt due to make his eagerly awaited English debut against Europe’s top milers in Goodwood’s Group 1 Sussex Stakes on August 1. Asiatic Boy has had a break since creating history at the Dubai International racing Carnival, winning on four occasions, including the Dubai Triple Crown of the UAE 2000 Guineas, Al Bastakiya and UAE Derby. His aggregate winning margin for the four races was 25.75 lengths. Speaking on the UK’s At The Races de Kock said everything was progressing well and Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum’s colt was on target for Goodwood. “He needed a break. Obviously he had a hard campaign in Dubai, but he is going very nicely and he will be at Goodwood first before going on to the Juddmonte International at York which is his main mission. “I think his best distance will be about a mile to nine furlongs but he might just be lacking a bit of match practice for the Sussex - it could count against him a little. “He is quite a natural athlete and you’ve got to expect when he steps onto the track that he will put it in. “What we have to see is whether he is as effective on turf as he is on dirt, that’s the big question mark I think,” de Kock told At The Races. “He works at home like a pretty awesome horse. He’s done it in Dubai against his own age group and I feel that if he can do it against older horses, we can maybe start to get a little carried away.” Asiatic Boy is rated the equal of the dual Guineas winner Cockney Rebel and is one of 24 horses still in the Sussex Stakes at the latest forfeit stage with one of his possible rivals being Godolphin’s recent Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes winner Ramonti. |
