something doesn't sound right with Bette Midler. can she still sing? i'm not so sure. and how about that Haley?

I thought it sounded a bit strange in the beginning too...it got better as she went along, not sure if it was a sound problem or whether she was off. Anyway, maybe Haley's hotness was affecting my hearing!

Great job by all on Sgt Pepper but Carrie Underwood is simply a fantastic singer...Kelly was quite good as usual but Carrie is in a class of her own I think, Rubin underwhelmed me and Taylor was nothing special...but again, wasn't Haley hot?

Jordin Sparks...American Idol! That restores some faith in the general public. I thought her poise during her last song was a thing to behold, she clearly was breaking down yet her voice remained true to the end...I really think she has a bright future!

She sounded TERRIBLE. Something was way off there.

I hated the Sgt Peppers cover, but 'Friends' was outstanding!

Not terrible but it seemed off somehow! How old is Bette now? I remember when she was singing topless in gay bath houses in Frisco...seems like not that long ago but probably was!

I think it was the correct vote, she has great all around appeal.
A good season if you ask me. the final 12 was a pretty likeable group.

They all seemed like good kids (I can say "kids" at my age) and they clearly liked each other. The top six girls were as good or better than all the guys though. You can't help but like Jordin and Blake showed real class throughout. Melinda is the best vocalist but Jordin has that huge upside...I'm satisfied but wish those two could have gone head to head in the finals.

Outside of the stupid awards and Joe Perry having to play guitar for Sanjaya I thought it was a really good show....Best performance of the night for me???

I thought that Blake and Doug E Fresh brought the house down....nothing like a trip down memory lane.....six minutes!!!!
