Take nothing away from Kip Deville, because he is no doubt a top class horse. If Showing Up had a few races into him, the outcome would have been very similar to the last time the two met. The point is that the Maker's Mark is not his ultimate objective, and it will set him up just right for the Manhattan. It was the right move to skip the Woodward, because you can't expect a horse to bounce back so quickly after such a lengthy break. Showing up looks like he might have a good year this year..It will be interesting to see who else pops to the top of the older turf division.
