For whatever it's worth...race 7 was also a 3yr old filly NW1X allowance at 8.5f on turf was run almost 4 full seconds slower than race 4. Perhaps the track took in some rain or not don't know, still listed as firm. Interesting nonetheless.

1:42.98 and 1:46.64 comparing the two.

20-30k 3yr old fillie turf is a tough race to find this time of the year. She got the experience against some real classie fillies. Lots of positives, Dint be discouraged. Im sure Cannon learned someting with the race and will help her ,

Default The Big Race

I watched the race riding in a car down the highway in NJ on my computer. I must admit, as others are saying, I've never enjoyed loosing more than today. Oh, well, there be other days.

Thanks to Steve and Chuck and Sumwon.

More importantly if she had been in that race she could have run slower than she did today early and been on the lead instead of strung wide the whole way. Looks like she drew into the wrong division, that would have been a perfect race for her to steal a piece of.

I thought she looked great on the track, a really nice looking filly. I'm sorry she didn't place for you guys, but Chuck will find her level of competition and I'm sure she'll be a nice horse for you all. It was so exciting watching her run, I can't wait for her next race!

Those horses were too much for her today. She was short and chasing some faaaaast fractions.

I wonder how she is going to feel tomorrow. That's when she will be sore.

man.. people at the Days Inn are loud and obnoxious. I didn't sleep at all last night

Default A good start..

Back from dinner with Chuck and Paula (wife).. What a long, fun day..!

Hope all enjoyed this first experience as the Dee Tee Partners, and everyone here really, participated in what I believe was a tremendous accomplishment. In her first start in ALW company; her first start on grass; and first start in 90 days, Sumwon was as over-her-head as thought, and perhaps short for the 8.5 journey.. No matter. Even with a last place effort, the pleasure in bringing together so many people who had never before been involved in horse ownership was overwhelming.

The objective of the Dee Tee Stable was to promote horse ownership and racetrack comraderie, and today was an undeniable success. At least 16 partners were in attendence at Keeneland, and I think they had a great time. And I can see that everyone that followed the day here, whether in DT or not, were equally excited. The kind words from everyone here is greatly appreciated, and I'm sure I speak for Chuck when I say that it's been our pleasure getting this undertaking off the ground. It's really those that inspired the concept and got involved that made it happen. And this was only the next step in the process.

Sumwon exited the race tired, indicating she needed more work yet, but scoped clean and snapped back well after cooling out. This race will do a lot for her fitness, and as mentioned earlier in the thread, will likely run back on Sunday, April 29, Opening Day at Churchill. in a 1 mile (dirt) $50,000 claimer.

More from Chuck later I'm sure.. and from me as well. Back in Florida tomorrow and will catch up soon as I can.

Thanks to all Derby Trailers for making this a wonderful day...
