This is true. One of the things I will do if I am getting chewed up for an extended period is look at a card and key on 2 races (no more than 2) that look to have absolute locks and then I will play them, chalk and all. even if you hit just one you will have a 50% win pct that day and will make a small profit if you can get at least 6/5 on your winner. Does wonders for the confidence just watching your horse cross the line first.

Indeed, it does. I am often amazed at those that will not bet a horse unless going off at 3/1 or better. There are many days that 2/1 is a fine, fine profit.

Looking for "the house payment" within racing, day in, day out, and betting only those, can cause one a great deal of anxiety, and frustration.

Another thing, and I am sure you realize this. Check out what just happened in the SA thread. Root gave out a $38.00 winner. I did not like anything today at Anita so I played his horse and Bam! I take great pride in my capping but I am never too proud to play another persons horse. There are people who pay lots of money for other cappers picks and we have some of the best in the country right here giving winners out for free.

Wish I would have mentioned it sooner.
