it's funny the amount of times that i hear people say oh, i'd give some of my rights away to be safer. the last thing you'd be is safer. what's that little anecdote about not saying anything when others were taken...then when i was taken, there was no one to speak up.

three cheers for the aclu. they speak for those few that no one else will! the minority whose rights would be trampled by those who believe that 'majority rules'. NO, IT DOES NOT!

a city manager in florida, the city escapes me, has gone public with his decision to have a sex change operation. so guess who was put on leave? why? they hired the best person right? not the best man--so why can't he do his job if he's the best woman for it????

Our current administration has done for them what it hasn't done for those that funded their debacle.
Yes, the ACLU has had problems, however, the mission remains...American Civil Liberties Union. Protecting the rights of ALL under the Constitution is an admirable purpose.
I don't think you and I are very far away from commonality views on the abuses of power.
