He can definitely handle stakes quality at CD; he just can't at the Grade 1 level.

Mike, I thought I read in another post where you liked Buzzards Bay to win this. You wrote something to the effect of "Buzzards Bay draws clear by 5".
And you keyed Wiggins? Did you change your mind?

Yeah Tim I did, for the same reason I ended up keying Nothing But Fun rather than play Spun Sugar. On TG once I saw them, Buzzard had run a HUGE top at Oak, much bigger then expected. He ran a -4 and had never run anything near that before, he was a textbook bounce. WIth Spun, she had run a -1 1/4 which has 41/2 points better than anything she had previously run. Which also made her a bounce. Like I said, all weekend long I keyed against heavy favorites who lost, but was not able to nail the winner. Its very frustrating when that happens, to be in the right Church but the wrong pew. I never make final decisions until I see the numbers, late scratches, and track bias or lack of one. In Buzzards case the minute I saw the numbers I went WHOA!! and tossed him. Lot of good it did me.

Oracle, How long between races do you think a horse needs before you throw out the bounce effect and is Buzzards Bay a Front runner type horse?

Well you had the right idea, just had buck luck with Wiggins getting a rough trip (never really paid much attention to him in the race so I will take your word for it).

Cant believe Wiggins went off at 13/1, only 3 ticks higher than Perfect Drift?
Wow, thats some serious money thrown his way.

I'd sure like to own a hanger like PErfect Drift! Lifetime earnngs over $4 million. Can't think of another North American horse in training with higher earnings.

I am beginning to think he was hurt for a spell
from the fall of 2004 till the late summer of 2005.
then he didn't look so good.
but he rebounded in the late summer last year and got up for a piece in the Bcc last year, and this year, heck , he should have won saturday, had the jock seen what was going on, a couple of taps with the leather and he would have hit the wire first. a 250,000 dollar laps in judgement by the jock.
