![]() I am usually more disappointed in people than I am horses.
My biggest disappointment was when Vision & Verse just could NOT get by the mighty Lemon Drop Kid in the Belmont but I would have to say the $16 mil Green Monkey is up there

![]() Hmmm.... I'd have to say Fusaichi Samurai would definitely be one of the most disappointing racehorses. He sold for 4.5 million bucks, broke his maiden on the first try, was laid off for several months, came back and finished last in his second race, and hasn't been sighted again. What a waste.

![]() This might seem crazy, but in 2003 it seemed like everyone thought that Empire Maker was a lock to win the Triple Crown. He was so royaly bred that he was supposed to cruise to the triple crown, like the way he cruised in the Florida Derby and the Wood. We all know what happened there. I know people are going to think I am crazy to think that a horse who won 3 grade 1 races including a triple crown race in 8 lifetime starts and also hit the board in every start he made was a dissapointment. But for me he was. I bought into the fact he was that he was going to cruise to the crown that year. I do realize that it wasn't the strongest 3 year old crop that year. Even more the reason why he was going to cruise. He was supposed to the next superhorse. The next thing I knew he was retired at the ripe old age of 3. Never made the Travers or the Breeders cup. Never knew the story about the foot injury, was it fact or fiction? It just seemed that they couldn't wait to get this horse into the shed. For me, it was very dissapointing.

![]() When Tontine Too ran his dull race,I'd say that I was as disappointed with a horse as I have ever been.I had thought he was such as tough-minded little horse, and he was just flat as can be (in that November race.)He showed his true ability today though. That horse that showed up today is a tough, tough individual to beat.

![]() Rockport Harbor. Say what you want about the fact that his biggest win came against Galloping Grocer in the Remsen, but that horse had all the makings of a really good one. He won the Remsen on virtually 3 hooves and was never the same. I remember looking at that injury that day and thinking it was a nasty gash. I had no idea at the time, that it was a career ender. It can be a cruel business sometimes, can't it.
