![]() Please post your ROI wagers for the full race card for Churchill Downs on this thread. Even though the points contest only covers races 2-11, Real Quiet has traditionally allowed wagers on the full card.
Please have your wagers posted not later than 1:14 PM Eastern time, the scheduled post time for race 2. If you are playing a race earlier than race 2, you will need to have your ROI wagers posted prior to the post time for that earlier race. I am going to gratuitously mention that on Saturday it will be possible to play the Derby City 6 with all stakes races, 5 of which are grade 3. Since this is a $0.20 wager, it is possible to put together a respectable ticket with our $100 bankroll, especially if you can find a single in the sequence. It's just a thought......... Good luck to all and thank you to Real Quiet for scoring |

Best of success with your Pick 6 efforts NJ. I'll be rooting you on from the cheap seats. I tried to put together a ticket or two, but when I worked on it early this morning, I just couldn't narrow my choices down to our $100 budget. I considered Skelly as a possible single, but couldn't rule out World Record as almost as good; in a similar vein, I couldn't exclude Hall of Fame from the Blame, and since this was before the scratches of Most Wanted from the Blame and Lush Lips from the Regret, my ticket was too expensive. By the time the scratches on Most Wanted and Lush Lips came through, I was already committed to trying a trifecta array on the Aristides and it was too late to go back and reconstruct. |

![]() Sorry that I mentioned anything about the pick 6. Hope I didn't egg you on NJ. As far as I can determine, no one hit the pick 6. Even without taking the $68.00 winner in race 6 into account, the pick 5 paid a generous $6,900 for half a buck.
Still, putting together a pick 6 attempt is an enjoyable exercise of handicapping and money management. |

![]() Well, I went partners with a buddy and we put in about $64 apiece. As we went 3 for 6 I guess you could say I wish you never said a word! But the truth is we don't regret taking the shot. It would have been nice to get past the first leg but still....
![]() What hurt the most is my Pick of the Day (Call Protection) sadly broke down and had to be put down. It's a part of the game but it always hurts... |

AFTER THE TEARS After The Tears Have Stopped Falling After The Heartaches Subside... My Mind Is Asking The Question... Why Many Good Horses Have Died? Is It The Breeding Or Training? Is It The Fault Of The Track? Is It The Greed And The Money? Or Only The Conscience We Lack? Why Are The Legs Oh So Fragile That Two And Three Year Olds Die? Why Can't The Doctors Repair Them? And, Worse Yet, Why Don't They Try? Is Insurance Money The Answer? And To Save Them Not Worth The Price? Is Saving Our Beautiful Horses Worth Less Than The Toss Of The Dice? Some Say It's Part Of The Game Now It's Simply The Price We Must Pay! My Heart Tells Me Something Quite Different It Says That We Must Find A Way..... A Way To Develop More Soundness A Way To Have Youngsters Grow Old! A Way To Secure A Safe Future For All Of The Dreams That We Hold. So, After The Tears Have Stopped Falling And, After The Heartaches Subside Let's All Seek To Find Honest Answers Of Why Those We Loved Now Have Died. 💔 ****************************************** (C) LADY CAT |

The other general variety of pick 6 is what I'll call the "jackpot" pick 6, in which a portion of the pool carries over unless only one ticket hits the pick 6, which entitles the holder to the entire pool. If more than one player hits all 6, each will receive a payout that is a portion of the new money wagered on that day. The goal of this variety is to have the carryover jackpot continue to grow until it finally gets hit, resulting in a life-changing payout. These varieties usually have a much lower base bet (i.e. the $0.20 bet at Churchill). These also become very attractive on mandatory payout days, when syndicates get formed to try to chase the jackpot. For the most part, these wagers do not have a conso payout since the goal is to grow the carryover pool as quickly as possible. |
