Always loved that phrase from the former Fed Chairman. As I recall, on the day he said that, the Dow dropped several hundred points.
We've probably both known more than a few horseplayers who have shown irrational exuberance about a "steam" horse who went off at 1-5. And in the immortal words of Harvey Pack, "...hardly a man is now alive who paid the mortgage at 1-5."
