After looking at Saturday's entry list, I'm inclined to agree with you (other than one of my favorite wagers, the Oaks - Derby Double). Saturday's race card is nothing short of grueling. An active player will likely be exhausted, both physically, mentally and financially, by the end of the day. Churchill is offering 14 races over a period of 10 hours, with most races having very full fields. A cynical person would suggest that they were being greedy. When I have time I'll try to count the total number of horses who will be running - I'm sure that it is a large number.

Good that we can start the handicapping process earlier than in the past.

Try USA Network for Oaks Day coverage. That's what we have locally.

Real Quiet has kindly allowed us to include the Oaks/Derby Double in our ROI wagers. Other than that, I can't recall ever playing the Oaks card as a contest. The only time we do a two day contest is for the BC races.

Don't know about you, but I suspect that I'll be burned out after plowing through just the card for Derby Day. Our hardworking scorers will probably be also.

Yes, we always allow Oaks-Derby Double for ROI as one of your four wagers and no we do not add Oaks day to our Points contest. Definitely too much catnip Ruffian.

Yeah, it's a long day not just handicapping but scoring. But it's all good and fun. I used to have tickets every year for Oaks day and would arrive at Churchill before the first race. By the end of the day I was exhausted. Would spend Derby day at Keeneland for their wonderful buffet and it was a lot of fun. Have to admit, again, was exhausted by the end of the day.

I think what makes it so bad is how they extend the time between races later in the cards. Just keep it at 30 min. But I know they extend the time to bring in more betting money. Still, ugh.

Also, as is tradition, a KY Derby glass will be awarded to the Points Contest and ROI winners.
