![]() The big grey thing you see me jumping in my avatar reared up, fell over sideways, and rolled over me once. I'm lucky I didn't die.
I still have nerve damage from the injury and am about 80% in my left leg and 90% in my right. Both of my hips weren't attached to my body (they hadn't moved out of place though so I didn't have to have surgery), my tail bone was broke down the middle, I broke two ribs on either side, broke my left shoulder, punctured lungs, and had severe nerve damage. My sciatic nerve was severed. That horse has took me to both hell and heaven on Earth though. I still love him. I was back on him three months after my injury, but it took about six months before I could ride without any pain, and about a year to where I could post without stirrups again. |

I've been lucky... had two bad falls (one where my grey rolled on me and broke my tailbone OUCH) and one where I fell onto a jump. Besides my back problems, I have never had serious injuries. Horses are very dangerous. Worth it to me, but still dangerous.

![]() I used to wish that I'd fall and break my nose so I could get a nose job (only way insurance will cover it.)
![]() I have a scar on my stomach from a weanling... he got me with both hind hooves! Thank God he was too young for shoes. Knocked the wind right out of me.

![]() I slipped on the way to the windows once and skinned my knee....but don't worry.....I still got all my bets in and was thus able to continue to fund the game.

![]() I haven't had any extremely bad falls that were actually classified as falls since I was twelve when I broke my wrist. All the other times I have gotten hurt badly are when I was either on the ground or when the horse fell.
I got kicked in the face by a 2 yo once and had a broken nose. The bruised hoof print on my face was actually pretty funny. He wanted to give me beauty marks. The next year, I had another 2 yo kick up at me in the stall at a show, and come down on my foot. That broke every single one of my toes, but I still managed to put on my tall boot and ride him in a dressage test the next day. My middle finger is also crooked and I broke a bone in my hand one time too. But, I train young horses so it is inevitable that I get hurt. I just always shrugged it off and got right back to doing what I loved to do as quickly as my body would allow me. Unconditional love... |

![]() Am I the only one looking forward to her post that details her accident worse than a broken collerbone, broken wrist, two broken ribs AND a punctured lung?
And I see you didn't disappoint. Quite impressive. Not sure why you wouldn't still love your horse. It wasn't his fault. |
