It has the nice feature of being sortable by each heading, so you can quickly tell which track has the lowest takeout on exactas or tris or whatever.

What I don't know is how well it's updated.

Well, I didn't notice that it had "2015" in the link. I just now tried putting in different years, but nothing works past 2017:

From the red entries, it looks like they have made corrections directly onto that 2017 sheet.

This was posted May 2020 in the Paulick Report and mentions how hard it is to find an up to date set of takeout rates:

"Good luck finding accurate, regularly-updated information.

"Until 2017, a “grass roots horseplayer organization” known as the Horseplayers Association of North America maintained an annual list of takeout rates and tied them to track rankings. Racing's customers are generally left in the dark otherwise, though some ADWs, like AmWager, note the takeout on their betting platform, but information is not always complete, and even when it is known, it might not give you a realistic portrayal of cost.

One thing for sure, if there is a nice low take out on a particular wager, they mention it ALL the time, the other high takeouts never get mentioned. You always hear oh the pick 5 with that low 15% takeout starts on race 6. You don’t hear, oh the late pick 4 with the ridiculous 24% take out starts on the 7th race...

I see that Cantebury Park has only 10 percent takeout on Pick 5 as advertised on their website and was just curious if other tracks follow the same way

Thanks for the info

I agree.

Brisnet used to do it:

The note at the bottom says it was last updated in April, 2008!
