Don't mean to be a Debbie Downer, but I read an article saying that if your number of cases divided by the number of those tested is above 6-7%, you can be sure that there are a lot more people walking around with the virus. Virginia has 890 cases with 10609 tests, which would work out to 8.3%. Arkansas has 421 with 3448 tested. That's 12.2% Be careful out there.

I'm sure you're right. Without universal testing no way to have an accurate picture and unfortunately there aren't enough tests or masks or ventilators or anything else needed to fight the virus. I am pretty much a hermit anyway and haven't been out except to get groceries and pick-up my meds and to try to score the ever elusive TP. Was beginning to think the President was going to have to come down and throw us some, but that possibility was pretty remote since we don't represent a lot of votes out here in redneckville. I just returned from town on a trip to get my meds and stopped off at WalMart and actually found a few rolls of TP. I couldn't believe it. Kinda felt like I was stealing something. Looked around to see if anybody else saw it too and was going to offer to fight me for it, but there were no takers so I grabbed it and got out of there as fast as I could.

Glad you scored on the TP...luckily, I got a huge pack at Costco more than a month ago....since it's just me, I don't have to buy often. I'm really upset, though, that my neighbors are having a party! I don't understand what people are thinking!

No me neither. Some of those people that died here were thought to be the result of having attended church. Seems to be a bit of irony there that people would die shortly after efforts that were no doubt intended to help them to make it to the hereafter. I guess there will always be those contrarians that don't take things seriously and unfortunately there are those that just don't trust anyone or anything except their own feelings about things. Shakespeare I think that said "to thine own self be true"? Maybe so, but for the time being, I trust Doctor Fauci.

I agree too. It's going to be bad but as Dr. Fauci said we have to make efforts so we don't face the "worst case"scenario.

CNN saying that the medical people told the President that the death toll could be more than 2 million, if people returned to normal activities too soon. If all of us practice social distancing the death toll is estimated at 100,000. In his news conference today, he did an about face on his comments about trying to get people to return to work by Easter. I think the President gets some pretty crazy ideas from the usual sources and then the medical people have to talk him down. Thank God for them. The nation owes them a lot.
