Have to weather the storm. Hopefully this is all behind us in 8-12 weeks. Daily new cases in NJ exploded the past few days from 700-900 range to the 2000 range.

Santa Anita probably shouldn’t have been running for the past week or so.

Golden Gate is still running and they are in the same state. Perhaps those jockeys and horses go there and create bigger fields?

Unless they are now creating deadly lab viruses I don't think they can claim credit for this.

As few times modern horses actually race, a shut down of 3-4 months might not even affect a good number of their schedules.

If New York is still 2-4 weeks from an apex and there is a three month ramp down after that, New York is not ready for business until early August at best.

Look at the southern and midwestern states where travel was still near normal as of yesterday. These states will be 8 weeks behind the New York curve which would put their business into early October at best.

Unless there is some way to restrict interstate travel (which there isn't) and open business state-by-state (which there isn't), as a country, we will ready to open only after the longest path in this schedule which likely will be through the end of 2020. Goodness knows I hope I am wrong.

Emerald Downs was scheduled for 4/18 opening, now looking at 5/30.
April dates would have been 4/18, 4/25 & 4/26
May would have 12 days missed if 5/30 happens
EMD looking to extend end of meet to cover missed days
