3 City of Light
4 Seeking the Soul

JolyB had the wings of Pegasus to win this week! RUFFIAN-333 is a solid second. Real Quiet runs in third. DonGuido nicely rounds out the super.

If you haven't seen this photo you should. Hearts are broken when our champions retire, when we hope for just one more year, or? Lovely Stella and her daddy say goodbye. Even City of Light looks kind of sad that it's over. It's so wonderful and greatly appreciated, though, when owners continue to run their horses past three years old. I always hate that "rationale" s/he has nothing left to prove. Accelerate is 6 and City of Light is 5, they still had something to prove and it was great! It's not always about the money, it's about the love and support of the fans who get to enjoy their favorites for just a wee bit longer. Understanding why owners decide to retire their champions, it's hard to let go to retirement, and I don't believe early retirement is necessarily good for this particular sport. While many fans are excited about their favorites' progeny (Beholder just had a little filly by Curlin!) the main focus is racing, not breeding, right? Even she raced longer, yay! Thanks for letting me express my POV. Don't throw things at me!

I agree with you 150% as a fan a lover of the sport and the horses but it is a business and we are lucky to be able to watch great horses and connections race past their 3 and 4YO seasons. And as you say we can always look forward to the babies of such great equines!!!
