I’ve never done the Del Mar contest. Is it the same set up as Monmouth’s Survival at the Shore or different? I’ll have to check it out.

One race a day chosen by the powers that be at Del Mar. It's usually a turf race. $100 mythical bankroll each day to play. Last year you could play WPS and exactas. I am guessing that they will start with the Oceanside, a turf handicap with 13 starters. Should be a real brain buster to start out. Especially for those like me, that do not play the turf particularly well.

Well that’s cool. I may like that better than the Survival at the Shore setup.

Right, no exactas. Guess that experiment didn't work out for them. First race is the Oceanside(R8).

I believe the 100 is deducted for scoring if you whiff so choose the picks/days carefully . also bets 50 & under don't count for scoring. read the rules.though as i only skimmed it once.

The way I read that that, is just simply you must use your complete $100 bankroll per race to qualify for prizes?

Correct you have to bet $100 total for it to count in your 20 required bets
