The feature is a Grade 1 worth 60 grand. Not too shabby for a track that is an unknown commodity (to us anyways).

Not a bad card today.

Classic Jewel looks decent but I like horses with more speed. From what I gather looking through the PPs, speed does well here.

Calder ran on Christmas when I worked there and, lucky for me, it was the last year. The track gave everyone who worked there a frozen turkey for Christmas and we (lots of employees and several jockeys) ended up going "turkey bowling" on the slick concrete of the service docks for about an hour. Good times, good times...

Merry Christmas all! Good luck handicapping the SA opening-day card, too.

Been to El Comandante a bunch of times .... wife has relatives there. It's a decent place.

Did I dream this....? In the late 70's a horse named Santa Claus won at the Fairgrounds on Xmas Day or Eve. Of course, the announcer's call was, "Here comes...."

Did I dream the FG race? Anyone remember that? If I did dream it, it was a good dream.

MErry xMas everyone.
