I usually avoid the ridiculousness of Repent's ignorant race-bating, but will take up the cause here. 'Affirmative action' has nothing to do with Steven A Smith's success. If you knew anything about him, you'd know that he was an outstanding columnist for the Philadelphia Inquirer for years before getting the gig(s) on ESPN. While I cannot stand his strident act on TV, his intellect and sports aptitude is pretty well beyond reproach. I'm disappointed with the way he has decided to play his personna on ESPN, as it doesn't reflect how well he writes about sports.

Not a roundball fan, but it's certainly true that TV sports reporting could use more multiple-degreed, educated types like Bilas..

I played Bball against Steven A when he played for FIT in manhattan. I read an article in SI about him, saw that he went to FIT at the same time I was in college. We played in FIT's xmas tourney both years that he was there. Of course I dont remember him but I do remember that FIT wiped us out by 40!

I enjoy hearing what he has to say whenever he's on the Sports Reporters. I enjoy watching the show, as my blood starts pumping when I want to reach through the TV and drag Mike Lupica out and kick his a$$! As for Stephen A. Smith, when I first heard of him, I thought he was an a$$, but as I listen to him we have a lot of agreements.

He is clearly a very bright man.

But, "any black man that does not root for Mike Tyson over Evander Holyfield has something wrong with him..." Where in the crud does this stuff come from?

And he is totally American so Repent should love him. The almighty dollar above all with him. Its always about he is gettin paid, look what the man is getting paid, he has to do what they say because look what they are paying him... all about the money, loves excess... He is your man repent.

I knew he wrote for Inquirer.
ESPN always introduced him as a columnist from there.
so I read some of his articles.
he is just plain bad.
as a writer steve, you should recognize this.
has nothing original to say.
just takes whatever topic is in the sports news, and then plays the race card with it.
sorry, thats not that hard to do and its hardly good journalism.

its no different than the skinheads that write for the Citizens Informer of the CCC.
I can assure you they have better writers on staff than steven a smith, but b/c they have an unpopular agenda, they are trashed while contemporay America embraces a racist like steven a smith.

go ahead and believe he is a journalist if it makes you feel better and maybe you all can even convince yourself that America is as prejudiced as he would have you believe.

Im smart enough to see him and espn for what they really are.

It is quite a bit scary that not only do you have knowledge of what the Citizens Informer of the CCC is but that you also know about the quality of writers on their staff and can "assure" us of the quality of their writers. Have you been listening to any Beatles lately?? Might be good for you during this holiday season!!

I read as often as I can when Im not watching racing.

literature like the Citizens Informer interests me a great deal b/c it provides some information on the thought process behind certain types of human behaivor.

the writing in that newsletter and others like it is actually very good.
you have to be good to take an illogical argument and present it in a way that makes sense to your audience.

there is no question about it.
much easier to cry "poor black man" than to provide justification for a superior race.

I have never one single time in my life ever heard of the CCC until I read your post, which pretty much indicated what they were. I am literate, so therefore I can read something and deduce what they are without having first hand knowledge of ever having heard of them before. I can tell you Smarty Jones won 7 of 8 races lifetime and I am guessing you can figure out what that means similar as to how I can figure out what the CCC stands for when you write about them. You don't have to be good at all to present an illogical argument and present it when that argument is done by skinheads. That is called insane stupidity...not an illogical argument. Me presenting a well written argument on why The Tin Man is the greatest horse in the world and presenting it in a way to make sense to my audience is good because me saying that is meaningless. What skinheads write in that publication is not meaningless, it is dangeroous and to conflate Stevan A Smith as the black version of the writers for that publication is beyond ludicrous.

But again, discussing issues like this with you is similar to trees falling in the forest when noone is there, correct?? Are they heard?? OF course not...so this is simply a waste of my time replying to pretty much anything you state.
