Glad they made the decision. But, I'm also glad they ran her as a 4 and 5YO.

Not convinced she was finished. I'm one to believe the horse is peculiar as all get out and was a creature of habit.

Nevertheless was a solid career.

Is this simply a case of a horse that has "it" in the mornings still, but for one reason or another isnt really worried about hitting the finish line first anymore?

If such a thing even exists....

Prefers a woman on her back. Preferably one named Rosie.

Agreed but missing the 2016 breeding season is a 7 figure mistake

I doubt Ron Winchell is beating himself up over that.

Owning 50% of a stallion that produces 30 mil a year after year helps. Nonetheless one would think a lesson has been learned. This mare hadnt been "herself" for awhile, very sporting to give her a chance to reclaim her quality and finish her career on top. Nobody is keeping score nor suggesting Ron Winchell is distraught with missing a season. Just a observation it was the wrong decision which it turned out to be.

She lost the Spinster by a nose in her final start of 2015, and earlier in the year was beaten by the eventual BC Distaff winner and two horses who won multiple GIs. I don't think she was much worse in '15 than she was in '14, she was just facing better horses.
