Right now law enforcement probably thwarts 95% of these attacks. So if there are 50 plots out there in the works every year, maybe 2 out of 50 will succeed. This past year there were two attacks that succeeded, San Bernadino and now Orlando. In many of these cases, the terrorists are people that are familiar to law enforcement. This guy was familiar to law enforcement. They had been tipped off about this guy's radical beliefs in the past. And the same goes for the Boston Marathon bombers. They had been interviewed by law enforcement in the past. The FBI has to let these people go if there is no imminent threat. And they can't keep these people under 24 hour surveillance. Obama wants to bring in another 100,000 Syrian refugees. It's going to be impossible for law enforcement to monitor all of these people. The more of these people you bring you over here, the more plots there will be. I'm not claiming that most of these people will be terrorists. There will probably only be a very small percentage that will be terrorists or potential terrorists, maybe 1 or 2% at the most. But 1% of 100,000 is 1,000. That's a lot of potential terrorists. I'd rather bring immigrants here from countries where we don't have to worry about these things. There is no other race or religion where we have to worry about these things. If a student comes over from Korea, is there a risk that he might be a terrorist? No. The same goes for practically every other non-Muslim country. I think Obama honestly believes that if he brings tens of thousands of Muslims here that the Muslim population around the world will see this and then they won't dislike America any more. Obama honestly thinks it will make us safer in the long run. He lives in a fantasy world. If you have some young angry Muslim in the Middle East who wants to join ISIS, that guy is not going to chnage his mind as a result of seeing the US bring in 100,000 Syrian refugees. Obama thinks these people are rational and that their hatred for America is rational. He thinks that if we behave a little differently that they won't hate us any more. It is pure fantasy. |

He's either complicit, or he is that dumb. Terrifyingly, there are no other options.

I agree. Those are the only two possible options.

This guy pledged support to both ISIL and Hezbollah, who are in conflict with each other. What he didn't understand about actual Islamic extremism would fill an encyclopedia. He was a closeted homophobe.
As for his (physically and emotionally abused) wife, I suspect she figured reporting it to the cops would go something like this: 1) She calls FBI/police 2) They investigate, find no grounds to do anything 3) He kills her What you can count on is that a mass shooter will most likely be white, and almost certainly be male. Dig a little bit into his character and you'll find out he likely also hates women and brown folk which he'll have expounded at at some length about on the internet. But sure, let's blame it on the religion a lot of brown folk practice. Move along, nothing to see here.

The Disney Gator is close to overtaking the real news. I hope we just keep bringing the gators over until Disney goes bankrupt.

It's weird how Omar is similar to Omar from The Wire. At least that's where the narrative is headed.
Seems so scripted. Like the enemy is actually the media.

Second, in what universe is 1 mass shooting out of 200 20%? The number of refugees planned is 10k, not 100k. I find it troubling to read how many people on the watch list were cleared to buy a gun here. it is no secret that guns are easily obtained here. But there is no legislation to stop those sales. They cannot get on a plane, cannot fly out of country, but they can buy guns here, stay here, use them here. And why is the refugee thing even mentioned in this case? The shooter was born here, in ny.

With regard to mass shootings and murders, I specifically said "politically motivated" shootings. I wasn't referring to all shootings. Obama is going to bring in a minimum of 10,000 Syrian refugees this year alone. They are going to bring in a total of 185,000 refugees (from all over the world, not just Syria) over the next two years. How many of those 185,000 refugees are Muslim? Even if it's only 50,000, that is in just two years. And if many liberals and people in his administration had their way, they would bring in 100,000 just from Syria: "A letter made public last week and signed by several former Obama administration officials urged the U.S. government to accept 100,000 Syrian migrants, and to put in place special rules to speed the resettlement process." http://nypost.com/2015/09/20/john-ke...ext-two-years/ With regard to your comment that the shooter was born here, that is true. But who cares where this particular one was born? Of the hundreds arrested over the last few years who were planning attacks, a high percentage of them were not born here. The woman in San Bernardino was not born here. The 9/11 hijackers were not born here. They only killed 3,000 people. There is nothing we can do about second generation Muslims that were born here. They are US citizens. They are here to stay. But there is something we can do about the ones that weren't born here. Don't bring them over here in the first place. I agree with you that this guy should not have been able to buy a gun. But I doubt that would have stopped him. The guy in San Bernardino simply had a friend buy the gun for him. It makes it tougher if they can't buy a gun legally, but it ultimately will not prevent them from getting one, if they want one bad enough. That being said, I would have no problem with them passing a law that would not allow people on the terrorist watch list to be able to buy guns, assuming that there were proven ties to real terrorists. My only concern would be that this administration would probably try to put right-wingers on the list. I think Obama thinks Christians are more of a threat than Muslims. They would probably want to put anyone that reads Breitbart or WND on the terrorist watch list. LOL. That's actually not that far-fetched when you have people like Lois Lerner in the government Last edited by Rupert Pupkin : 06-15-2016 at 12:56 AM. |
