DTS: you're quick to assume I'm attacking you,but I'm not. I'm just saying you have so much more to offer us than to kick Bushes butt every other day. Yeah..I'm probably sensitive to it more than most...but only because I see these faliures as lost opportunities to bring America Back to greatness! And I mourn every day the lost lives of our great people in the service. Also...I don't think it's fair of you to call me an idiot for using a voting booth to voice my choice. What happened to the gentle horseloving DTS?

Timm,
Thanks for the clarification.
I agree that America is on the wrong track. Day by day our great country is diminished. The lost lives spent on this stupidity is beyond my tears.
So if bringing awareness to the situation on a little corner of the internet in an "off topic" room at a horse racing site generates some consciousness,
I'll do it.
Here's a quote...
"The greatest tragedy that allows the continuance of injustice, is for good men (and women) to remain silent."

I mourn for ALL the lost lives, military, civilian, and those that endure their loss.
Peace.

Timm,
Here's a follow up...
http://www.alternet.org/blogs/peek/45466/

Let's just expose the liars for what they are.
Does anyone like being lied to?
I don't think so.
Let's just expose the frauds for what they are before they do continued damage.
They have no shame.
They DO have excuses and "justifications".
It's not selling with me, nor 75% of the American people.
Let's bring our great country back to the promises of truth on which it was founded.
When we stand on truth, we're on firm ground.
Let those that don't, fail in the quagmire of their own creation.

There was no lie. Let me quote the article: "For the first time, a majority of Americans(53%) believe it's not likely that the US will ultimately succeed."

So the author is admitting that in every single poll done for the last 5 years, that a majority of Americans think that we will win.

The author calls Snow a liar because Snow says "A majority of Americans not only think that we're capable of winning, but we should."

How in the world could the author call Snow a liar? Some of these authors have no shame. How dumb do they think their audience is? He thinks that people will think that Snow is a liar because there was finally a single poll that shows that the majority of Americnas don't think we will win? Maybe Snow didn't see this poll. Does this author think Snow sees every single poll that comes out every day. The author admits that this is the first poll where a majority of Americans don't think we will win. Considering that there have been hundreds of other polls showing the opposite, it is not surrpsing that Snow still thought the majority the Americans think we can win.

Not only that, you can get different answers depending on what you ask people. Snow said that the majority of Americans "think we're capable of winning." If you ask people if they think we are "capable of winning", you may get a diffeent answer than if you ask people whether or not they think "we will win". Being "capable of winning" is different from "winning".

But for argument sake, let's just say the questions are the same. You still can't call Snow a liar. Every poll has said exactly what he he said. It is only this brand new poll, where a majority(53%) says that they don't think we will win. Snow may not have seen this new poll. That hardly makes him a liar. I would agree with the author and say that Snow is a liar if all the polls for the last year showed that a majority of Americans don't think we can win. But all the polls have shown the opposite. It was only this one new poll that Snow probably didn't see, that said a majority don't think we will win.

It is absurd for the author to call Snow a liar.

OK...maybe Tony (the USA anwer to Baghdad Bob) Snow isn't a liar.
His apology seemed sincere.
http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2...-snow-apology/

Given his "stage", it would seem that he would try to avoid these kinds of "mistakes".

Bush is terrible. He is the worst. But you know who else is terrible? Tony Blair. What about him? Tony Blair is a terrible and evil man. He's been side by side with Bush throughout this whole thing. He is pretty much as bad as Bush. Don't you guys think?

Rupert P,
It is written that "If a blind man follows another blind man, they both end in the ditch."
My hope is that they don't continue to drag us all along with them.

I don't follow either of them. See my latest post in "Lessons learned from chickens...lambs".

I think I'll pass on that thread. I read the first 6-7 posts in that thread a couple of weeks ago and there was nothing clever or worthwhile in there IMHO. I haven't read it since. I would actually be curious if there is anyone on this entire board that finds that thread worthwhile in any way. Are there any of you out there?

You should still feel free to continue the thread even if nobody likes it. As long as you are entertaining yourself, that is all that matters.

Well Rupert, thank you ever so much for telling me that I'm free.
If you'd like to be my "critic"...go for it!
Take your poll if need be.
I find it worthwhile to express my views. If you need to generate consensus as to why I shouldn't, perhaps you can gain allies somewhere.
Maybe, Russia?
Heck, they kill people for that.
Do me a favor, ok? If you don't like what I write, don't read it, you f'n fascist!
Don't call on your bullies to discourage my creativity, nor arrest me in the middle of the night. Last I heard, the United States was a free country where citizens were constitutionally guaranteed "FREE SPEECH!"
"Sieg Heil!" Rupert! ""Sieg Heil!"
Deny me if you dare!

Every President we have ever had in my lifetime has been "blind". Every one of them was bombing somebody. Bush got us into Iraq. Clinton was bombing Bosnia. Bush senior was bombing Iraq. Johnson was bombing Vietnam, etc.

These blind fools keep leading us into the ditch.
