Can't recall DMR offering an early P4. P5 is about 4 years old but don't believe it 'replaced' a P4.

I wouldnot know, as i stopped playing DMR when they went to poly in 2006. I thought it was pretty much standard now at tracks for early & late p4's even with the p5 at tracks. SA has it, nyra gp cd, etc. They are leaving money on the table IMHO.

Nah, this was maybe 2010 or so, definitely the synthetic era.

I can also recall when they would have 8 races how critical it would be to have race 5 correct as it was in both sequences.

You must be thinking of Hollywood Park...I went back 10 years and couldn't find an early P4

Cool footnote...I noticed that now with the return to dirt, DRF is showing the track record holders from 2006 and earlier. Some cool old names there!
