There is about zero chance they will change the spacing of the three races. It would diminish the accomplishment going forward. It is a tough thing to accomplish and it should be.

I don't think it will matter after today.

Its funny you bring this up. A change was made back not long before secretariat. We had some close ones in the years between big cy and big red no. 2. So, they did some tinkering. And then 3 tc winners, blam, and then blam, blam. So, some said ooh no, we made it too easy...haha.
at any rate, i think its gotten more attention this year than last certainly hearing it a ton on different sirius stations, and nbc even has it tied in as a great day of sports, racing and then game 2 of the cup (go hawks).

I saw more coverage on ESPN thins morning than I can ever recall before. I always thought they really didn't give a S$it about horse racing once they lost the coverage rights.

That, and no reason to. People forget how many times its been oh so close, and so many who ran in all three show that 'its too taxing' is a lie.

I would love to see this horse win the Triple Crown, however, having seen how difficult an accomplishment it is and the weight that has been put on this horse on this board alone, I doubt highly it will happen.
Agree, when I started wagering in 85 a Wednesday card at santa Anita was better than an average weekend card today. With the horse shortage we currently have we need all the big money owners we can get.
