Carpe Diem wins the Kentucky Derby.

It certainly wouldn't surprise me.

Ooh, I like it.

The NZ Derby winner will be sired by Tavistock. That's hardly a bold call, with Volkstok'n'barrell, Tavy, Midnitemagicman and Margin Trader all leading chances.

Is Tavy (what a good horse she is!) the favorite now?

She's second at 9-1. I thought she might move in a bid more after that nice run in the Eight Carat, but that's where she has stayed for now. Volkstok'n'barrell is on top at 3-1. He runs next on New Year's Day.
