so i'm looking up w. dans record and i thought " wow! ...what a great horse this is. seems like he should be up there with the all time greats like cigar, secretariat, etc....
he's 23 out of 31...winning g-1, g-2 races......really doesn't get the attention he deserves from the main stream media. then i look up citation and i see this.... Belmont Park 6/12/1948 6 Belmont Stakes 1 Garden State 5/29/1948 6 Jersey Stakes 1 Pimlico 5/15/1948 6 Preakness Stakes 1 Churchill Downs 5/1/1948 7 Kentucky Derby 1 he runs in a race for fun in between the preakness and belmont. unheard of.....now thats a tough animal!
