Scav: the way certain people are pumping up OSU, the line should be 9.5!

Wow, Pinny must be taking a ton of action on Ohio state because they just moved the line to 7.5

Boise State also dropped in down to getting 7.5

Watch it on the OKlahoma game. OU may be the most improved team since the beginning of the season. And Adrian Peterson, the best RB in college football will play. I would really stay away from this game. Both ways.

1) Peterson isn't playing

2) Boise State wants to earn something, called RESPECT, they are going to play their rear ends off. Oklahoma is their for a paycheck, they can care less about the game

I think Michigan might be the second best team in the country. I don't think they should be playing for a title though. Two reasons. They had their one chance. In this system, u can't ask for more than your one chance. That's all the other teams were going to get and now Florida is going to get theirs. Second, what if u put Michigan in the title game and they beat OSU 35-32? How fair would that beat to OSU that Michigan would be crowned champion? It wouldn't be fair at all. OSU shouldn't have to beat Michigan twice to win it but if they split, they lose.

The most screwed team in the country this year was Oklahoma. They probably should be playing in the championship game if u ask me. According to the information on Yahoo's site, they started off the season #5 in the USA Today poll and #10 in the AP. The finished regular season #8 in USA Today and #7 in the AP. If they hadn't lost that game to Oregon, they would be right there in the hunt. And they didn't really lose that game. The Pac-10 admitted that their officials made the wrong call and issued a formal apology to Oklahoma. That loss dropped them to the mid-teens in the polls. Without it, they would definitely be right there. And this after losing the best running back in the country in Adrian Peterson after six games. With a healthy Peterson, who is going to be back for the Sooners' bowl game, I'd give them a better chance to beat OSU than either USC, Florida, or Michigan.

Despite what some are seemingly professing to be fact, nobody can possibly know who is the second best team in the country. I never knew determining the SECOND best team in a sport was so damn important. Hell, it's hard enough to determine the best team, especially in college football. We shouldn't have a Title game this year. Ohio State clearly is the best team. Give the BCS credit for determining that. hehe.

Whether or not we believe Florida, or Michigan, or (insert team) deserved to play for the title, we have to realize the BCS coordinators COULD NOT allow Michigan and Ohio State to play for the title game. The commissioners claim that a playoff would deminish the weight and importance of the regular season, which they claim to be the most important regular season in sports. With this in mind, a rematch would make that BIG game two weeks ago in Columbus perfectly MEANINGLESS. If Michigan were to win, they'd both be 12-1 and 1-1 against each other, but Michigan would take the crown. So, the game that was touted as the biggest regular season confrontation in many a year had what kind of importance?? If this "game of the young century" is meaningless, so is the entire premise of the BCS' purpose. There is no way in hell the BCS officials will let that happen if they can help it. All I can say is, they are VERY lucky and happy Arkansas' Fish moronically fumbled that punt near the goalline, changing the entire complexion of the game. If that doesn't happen, WE WIN and get a playoff VERY soon.

I firmly believe Florida deserves a shot at the National Championship. I firmly believe Michigan deserves a shot at the National Championship. I also firmly believe that LSU, USC, Louisville, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Wake Forest, and heck, even Arkansas, etc., deserve a shot at the National Title. That's the problem. In this modern era of parity in college football, two-loss seasons are often GREAT seasons. Yet, the structure now is NO different than 30 years ago when there was far greater disparity in the ranks. A "plus one" format will still be problematic. Which two-loss team do you choose? LSU, USC, Oklahoma? They all have arguments. Or would you take a one loss Louisville? (The nation would scream if Wisconsin got in for three Big 10 schools out of four.)

you raise some good points
if we had an 8 game playoff
with the 6 conference champions of the BCS conferences
and 2 "wild-card" teams (the 2 highest ranked in the BCS polls)
it would be Ohio State, Florida, USC, Oklahoma, Wake Forest, Louisville
and then Michigan & LSU
then Boise State is screaming "what about us?"
if you took the top 4 in the BCS poll:
you'd get Ohio St, Florida, LSU, and Michigan
2 SEC's & 2 Big Ten's
then the other conferences are up in arms saying
"what about us?"
a 16 team would be too much though (IMO)
but something needs to be tweaked
I'd suggest unless you win a BCS conference
2 losses disqualify you, and a limit 2 teams per conference
so that would take out LSU and Wisconsin
and then you could add Boise to an 8 team playoff

I wish it was Mighigan, because I see them as giving the best chance to beat the Suckeyes, but it looks like the sweater vest man and his gang of thugs will get another National Championship...

In my humble opinion one of the biggest flaws with College Sports is this stupidity called preseason polls.

It depends, on whether Ohio State wins or if the game is close, on which Ohio State team shows up to play. If you go back and look at some of their games this year against mediocre teams at best, in particular their performance in the first half, you will see that they are a beatable team.

I am no fan of Ohio State and I live 15 minutes from the Campus. It is the fans of the Buckeyes that turn me off so much on this team - try living in Columbus, Ohio. Around here, everything about Ohio State is over-stated.

Come on Florida, win this baby so I don't have to hear about the possibility of Ohio State accomplishing what you will already have done - hold Championships in the same year in Basketball and Football.

I'm in the same boat as you, Curt... I would love to see Florida beat them. It's going to be a tough game for us... if we can get healthy, we might have a legit shot. I'm just excited that we made it as far as we did.

I should also state that I firmly believe that on a neutral field, Michigan would have beaten OSU. I was torn over what I thought should have happened and I think that it sucks that Michigan didn't get another shot at the Buckeyes.

Urban Meyer's initials are UM
Carr has too much class to campaign
so now he has to tell his team
"looks like California baby!"
Meyer lives a charmed life
he went undefeated w/ Utah
the same year they got rid of Zook
gets the #1 recruiting class at UF
and now plays for the NC
don't forget many of these guys
were on the team last year
when Bama spanked them 31-3
but he's played 27 freshman
51 days off makes you fat
the FLA freshman burn them
and pull off a shocking upset!

I don't know a lot about muscle strains and the time it takes to heal them, so I'll take your word on it... I just know that Arkansas was on a mission to injure our players. Bunch of BS if you ask me...

I dont blame the people for picking Fla to play in the game but come on if anyone in there right mind thinks that Fla will beat OSU your crazy this game won't be close, Fla too mistake prone to even hang around, this game will be over before halftime, 51 days of rest isnt so bad after you have played since August, I remember when we played in a bowl game the coaches take this time like another spring practice, you get your young players some reps and let the veterans have some time off they wont get fat but they will be ready to play for all the marbles come 1/8/07 OSU is just to good for this team at this time IMHO. OSU 41 Fla 17
