Default United Nations at Monmouth

I think this race is this weekend? Always been one of my favorites of the year. Better Talk Now won this last year and Balto Star the year before.

Anyone know who we can expect to see?

Nah Timmy, it's next weekend. July 8...and actually, Request for Parole won it the year before. In the words of Chris Berman, I know 'cause I was there!

Nominations aren't up on Mth's website yet.

Ateam I would think that some of the also rans in the Manhattan would be there. Frankel and Todd like to space out the races of their horses so I wouldnt expect EC or Cacique. But I would expect either Grey Swallow or Relaxed Gesture to be there. Thats just an educated guess though.

I thought Grey Swallow was being sent to Australia this month because he was sold?

Yes, I think we have seen the last of Grey Swalow in the United States.

Relaxed Gesture may go to either the Bowling Green or Sword Dancer

Cacique is training up to the Arlington Million I believe

Better Talk Now and his rabbit Shake the Bank should be there

Honey Ryder, a NY based mare, may run in the United Nations

Spring House may go, but he's 50/50 at best

Pletcher has been noncommittal about English Channel, but he seems somewhat likely

Hotstufandthensome is also considered likely

Could be a crummy race

Oh, I forgot about the year Request for Parole won it. Balto Star must have been 2003. I thought it was this weekend because I always associate it with July 4th weekend.

Maybe Better Talk Now and request for Parole run in it this year?

Did Balto Star ever retire? I know he made a return to the race or at least was training to. Any idea?

Hes been gone for a long time. BTN should be there I guess but if one of the other two from the Manhattan that i mentioned decide to run I would think they would win. Balto is long gone Tim.

BTN has really evolved into quite a nice racehorse.

What an amazing resume of graded wins this guy has accumulated.

Always manages to beat me out of a score too..

Ruined my big straight double of Kitten's Joy and Ghostzapper in the '04 BC, then beat me when I had King's Drama in last year's Man O' War. Then, just for good measure, I was gonna play a Pick 4 on Preakness day using him and Artie Schiller, but at the last second, changed my mind to just include Artie. Needless to say, the other three legs hit and I missed a solid payout.

Freaking hate that horse.
