maybe he was wrong in the adjective he used for the time, but you might be reaching to say that it was meant as a slight to Bernardini. Everyones minds were in a swirl right at that moment. whatever it was he more than made up for it!! I remember him screaming about him never breaking a sweat at Saratoga.
Of course he screams about the blistering pace when they run the opening quarter in 22 3/5.
