it's far past time to leave.


the war has dragged on longer than both world wars and the civil war combined, according to the article. when put in that context, rather than just saying 'longest us war ever', it really puts it in perspective.

note in the article how it helped break the ussr financially. i believe it. after all, a quote is that there are three things needed to wage war. money, money, and yet more money.
you know, the same money we don't have for medical care for our own citizens....

Said a dozen times, in and out of afghan in one year..bomb the terrorist camps, rout the taliban and capture or kill bin laden...the latter was Bush priority and year later priority changed...you know, to Iraq and we are still in afgan...a country no one ever conquered not even Attila the Hun..

bushes first mistake regarding afganistan was invading iraq. it took troops, support, money, time and attention away from afganistan. second mistake was staying far too long-but the amount of time we should have spent (and men, money and materiel) is skewed because of mistake number one. had we managed our resources, afganistan would have lasted a few years at most. it also would have served notice to all the petty dictators who didn't take enough note from gulf one.
our foreign policies have been fubar since ww2.
