"(CNN) - A pro-Sarah Palin group will start airing TV ads Wednesday in Iowa, urging the former Alaska governor to reconsider her decision against running for president.

Palin announced she wouldn't launch a White House bid in early October, ending years of speculation that the 2008 GOP vice presidential running mate might seek the Republican nomination in 2012.

Conservatives4Palin, a large online group, made the ad buy for $6,500.

The group said the ad will air for a week in Sioux City, with spots during ABC's "Good Morning America" and "Dr. Oz," as well as during local news programs in the evening.

This will be the first television ad the group has run since Palin announced her decision on Oct 5."

god help me but I think she could be their best bet!

and Obama's chances for another 4 years....yipee...

Palin has become a media joke but she could turn that around by playing to her strengths...(1) she is still the best known of the Republican choices, (2) she has a "homey" way about her that many folks are drawn towards, and (3) she is an attractive female (shouldn't matter but anyone who is truthful will admit it does). She must avoid the "poor me, the liberal media has it in for me" stuff and could do that by ignoring same, and she must also avoid specifics whenever possible (a natural predisposition of all politicians). The Republican field is so weak that she could easily win the nomination by simply avoiding blunders.

in addition to her many obvious flaws, she's done no fundraising or organizing. do you seriously think she could start a 50 state campaign with delagate selection beginning in about 6 weeks and take the nomination away from someone who has money in the bank and feet on the ground where it counts?

her chances went to zero when she wasn't fundraising or organizing last spring. this is the flip side of "obama won't run to clear the way for hillary in 2012". it's fantasy.

she's an empty headed beauty queen. her ambition was to be famous and rich. she's done both. why would she run for president and relive the humiliation of 2008?

i give her credit for at least having the sense to know her limitations. i'll miss her laughable factual blunder's but we'll still have rick perry and michelle bachmann for a few more weeks of comic relief.

Palin's "homey" manner has pretty much turned into nasty raging victim witch, like Newt. That - which is Cain's only strength, his ability to denounce "the others", btw - is Palin's only strength. But don't forget, even Roger Ailes threw her under the bus this year. She's gone.

Herman and Newt are on book selling tours. Perry is for those that think George Bush was too intellectual. The only chance the GOP has is to beat Obama would be to run Huntsman, but it's Mitten's year.

she wouldn't have a shot in hell at winning the white house, thank goodness. if she's the republicans best bet, they need to go the way of the federalist, whig and know-nothing parties.

as for her strengths....the only reason she remains on the radar at all is she's good looking, which isn't typical of a pol.

Winning the White House? Only if unemployment spikes! But she is popular (if you are a right wing Republican) and has been wise enough to stay on the sidelines and watch the circus thus far. Obviously far from an intellectual but to be branded such is not a way to connect with the average Joe who is more interested in her breasts than her mind. She needs to temper her "bitchiness" and concentrate on being seen as a kinder, gentler soul but compared to Newt and Romney (the only two left standing at this point), she is more likeable!

i know this entire thread is a bad joke but am still surprised that partisans on both sides still think the general election is a slam dunk for them.

i cheer every time i see a post about obama being dead meat. and shudder with every post that a republican nominee has no chance.

romney's being attacked by the dnc now because they know he's a formidable candidate in a bad economy. and it'll still be a bad economy in 2012.

it's easy for an obama supporter to have a few cheap laughs at the clowning in the republican primary now. but if romney is the nominee he won't carry tea party baggage and will have a lot of appeal to independent voters.

it's going to be a close election with a lot going against the incumbent.

I certainly agree with that! If the economy doesn't significantly improve, Obama is in for a tough battle....that's my point, while Romney appeals to independents and more traditional Republicans, he will receive minimal support from the radical right (Tea Party and religious right). It remains to be seen if that would be enough to beat Obama. The right has one candidate left imo and that's Palin...flawed to be sure but these folks will not see past the talking points and blame Obama rhetoric, can someone like her win? If independents and the Democratic base stay home, she could make it damn close. I think it unwise to discount someone just because folks find her amusing...this will be a very unique election given the closed minded nature of both sides. Our history is not without unlikely winners....Reagan was an actor in mostly B movies, Truman was seen by the media as a hot headed hayseed and Obama came from nowhere to capture the nomination and then the presidency. Folks here get their panties in a twist and act like I'm supporting Palin...I repeat, I'm a stone-cold leftist and her point of view is completely foreign to me. Then again, Obama is far to the right of me...honestly I have no candidate to passionately back so I can look at things without the political bias of most.

wise is not a word i think of when it comes to sarah. and i don't find her likable at all. i'd compare her to fingernails on a chalkboard.

Well, I never considered you a right wing Republican either. Likeable compared to Newt and Romney, Cain as well and certainly Bachman. McCain tried to show he wasn't just another Washington insider and a rather nasty man at that by drafting the young, unknown Palin to be his running mate. She was hardly ready for national politics and it showed immediately but even with her lack of knowledge and inexperience with the media, she gained a fair number of supporters. McCain would later blame her for his loss which was totally unfair and showed him to be the trite, angry man he was/is...all this did was endear her to the right (which was never comfortable with McCain anyway). Aside from her fights with the media, she has done little wrong since the election in the eyes of the right and who else do they have at this point? She is better prepared this time and I don't buy the notion that she is stupid...besides how many recent Presidents have been Mensa members? Could she govern? I don't know, would depend on whether she had the wisdom to surround herself with qualified folks. Don't get me wrong, she won't get my vote but I think it unwise to simply dismiss her.
