I saw a HRTV's Inside Information piece about Tyler Baze. It commented about his struggles with alcohol but was probably produced about a year ago.
Anybody have an idea what is happening with Tyler now? The DRF link below says he remains suspended and still has not satisfactorily served a 30 Rehab Program mandated by the SoCal stewards. http://www.drf.com/news/hollywood-ty...-entered-rehab |

i would imagine what's happening with tyler is that he's still denying he has a problem, that he can quit at any time, but right now he doesn't want to quit drinking.
he will either realize he has a problem and do something about it...or he will decide he doesn't, and will end up dying in an alleyway. feel bad for his family-it can't be fun watching someone self-destruct and be helpless to do anything about it.

Very classy. You should be so proud. Humor at another hurting human's expense.
What makes the internet such a lovely place. Hold your head high. It must be a great day for you. |

what was wrong with it? the guy is mocking someone who is wasting his life and talents. i don't know that tyler is the victim here. his issues are self-inflicted. he has the ability to rise above it, but right now chooses not to. if he's hurting, it's his own fault.

Is it the FAULT of someone that's hurting because of Cancer, or MS or any other debilitating disease? None of those self inflicted. Your ignorance and insensitivity is even more frightening than Coach's hate. Unbeileveable! |

Nice job with that whining letter where you completely threw Wrona under the bus. Funny coming from a guy who all the time preaches about the announcers "brotherhood". What's next? You gonna slash John Dooley's tires hoping he will miss work and get fired from Fair Grounds....then send a letter begging for the job? |

alcoholics can't rise above it? really? i worked with a guy who realized he had a problem and quit drinking years ago. i think he rose above it quite nicely.

Humor at the expense of others is timeless. The internet was a lovely place. You'll have internet 2.0 soon where speech is monitored and censored so your fragile mind can be at ease. It was a great day. Sunny and 70. |

If you posted a picture of an aids baby would that be funny and timeless? Alcoholism is a disease. To belittle someone, especially in a public forum for having a disease is the act of a heartless, hateful, coward. |

I am not getting into this battle but this series of pics culminating in the passed out cigarette guy is hilarious.
My two cents on alcoholism? Try working with the alcoholic when you have to carry their weight on the job and I bet some of this sensitivity goes away pretty quickly. |

The most interesting thing about this thread to me and how it differs from Cancer etc..... Kev said if he goes to the bar he knows he will drink and not be able to stop. He has been able to avoid this temptation and not drink for a while now. People with cancer or other awful diseases do not have this option. While both are diseases I believe that people with alcoholism, at least in some cases, can make choices that will keep them healthy. |

The difficult thing for me to convey and equally difficult for the average drinker to understand is that when an alcoholic is in the depths of his illness, there is no choice. That is the power that alcohol can have over people. When it comes to alcohol, my mind and body are wired completely different than others. I never expect anyone to understand that, just as I can't understand people that are able to have just a few. As a group, we can go around and around about this topic all day, but just like most controversial topics, there is always gonna be 2 sides and rarely will one side be able to change the view points of others. Personally, I am blessed to have family and friends in my life that, even though they may not understand alcoholism, they support me in my effort to remain sober. |

my girlfriend (unhappily) is an alcoholic and it's a nightmare....she comes from a whole family of boozers and she literally turns into a monster when she drinks...it's like jekyll and hyde...can't tell you how many times i have been unable to drag her out of a bar or away from a bottle at 3am only to be berated by insults or having random objects thrown at me for trying to get her on track...next morning rules around with things and shambles and she doesn't even acknowledge anything happened....
it's downright scary how alcohol makes people and until you are around someone who cannot control themselves you would never know... |
