no, it wouldn't go over well. when we had our youngest, he had strawberry blonde hair. people would look at me, look at tony and then ask (snarkily) where'd the red hair come from?? now that he's 18, eric grows facial hair. his hair is dark blonde/light brown-but his facial hair is red. lol my dad never grew a moustache, because if he did, it was red-hair on his head is brown.
as for baby-coloring can change. my daughter was pale with almost translucent skin when she was younger. not anymore.
on the other hand....my brother is raising four kids. only two are his, but no one speaks of it. and one of the two ('their' youngest) is my brother in laws kid...ah, family! and people wonder why tony and i stay to ourselves!!
