Personally I think this is a strong crop, relative to what we've had lately. Any Given Saturday may not want more than a mile and a sixteenth, but he's a quality, talented horse, yet maybe only 5th in the division overall, which says a lot.

Also, nobody's mentioned that Idiot Proof broke the track record at Monmouth yesterday in a stunningly good performance. This isn't an odd-distance record, it's 6F at Monmouth which they've probably run 15,000 times since Gilded Time set it in 1992. Obviously the track was fast yesterday but he ran .84 seconds faster than the very quick NJ bred Joey P (who holds the track record at Mth at 5.5F.)
