Spurs in 5
They used to run a caption on the screen in Cleveland when Ron Harper gave interviews

Spurs in either 5 or 7. I can't see Cleve losing game 6 at home.
James is superlative. It took Jordan 4 tries to crack Detroit. James is arguably better than Jordan at this point in his career. |

Spurs have a chance at 4 championships in 8 years.
One unselfish superstar can keep a team good for a long time. Changes must be made at years end. No standing pat. A big man that is mobile and is a basketball player is needed. Barry goes. Horry goes hopefully. Need to get young and improve. Finely, one more year. Bowen might be able to play 2 more (health nut). Core of Parker (Scuds pronounced this Frenchman could never win a championship at least 100 times), Ginobili and Duncan will have to be supplemented, reguardless of what happens against Cleveland. Bowen has covered: 1. Iverson and Carmello 2. Nash and Marion 3. Deron Williams 4. Now Lebron... Marcus Camby (defensive player of the year, does not even cover Duncan in the playoffs) ... What a crock. |

No bowen wont cover lebron... hell just be trailing him when he blows by. lebron is the type of person that bowen cannot lock down. I think the spurs are a better team, but being a betting man, I'll take the 7.5 points in game 1.

I guarantee you Lebron will not get two straight dunks going the same way in the last 50 seconds of a game though. You will not see the Spurs all staring each other "who was supposed to help" like Detroit. He will have to go to the line. He will be met before he goes airborne in the last 50 seconds. That was absolutley horrible team defense by Detroit in the last part of regulation of game 5. Lebron is way too strong for Bowen to handle alone. Alone... who can handle him alone? I would not be suprised to see Parker pester him out high occasionally if he brings the ball up at the end of a game. Detroit had no speed to stay with him and at least pester. The Spurs do. |

I am a Cav homer so temper these comments...but 3 years ago, the Pistons were supposedly to be absolutely zero match for the Lakers, and the Lakers were extremely lucky to win the one game they did. The next year the Pistons took the Spurs to game 7 and last year, the Heat beat the Mavs in 6. For a supposedly way overmatched conference the East I would say has held their own in the finals.
What is always overlooked by everyone is how well the Cavs play defense. Brown is a Popovich disciple and that is what Brown bashers completely overlook which is how significantly the team's defense has improved since Brown took over the job. It is all about the defense with him, and the criticism he takes on here is unconscionable as he has the team in the finals for the first time in the 37 year history of the team. In 16 playoff games, only 1 time has a team reached 100 points against them in regulation...the Wizards in game 2. They play defense, they rebound and they will have the best player in the gym. I will be absolutely shocked if they get swept as some are suggesting. I'll concede when the Spurs beat them 4 times!!
